I have always appreciated looking at art. Art of any kind, as long as it was colorful. The key word here is the word “looking” at art. I never dreamed I might be able to delve into this art expression called “painting.” I truly never felt I could ever reproduce these wonderful scenes I was seeing;

UNTIL …

My son-in-law, a beautiful artist in his own right, and I began talking about painting one day, only much deeper. The more we talked, the more I felt like experiencing what it might feel like to put a paintbrush in my hand and “slap” some paint on a little canvas. I had nothing to lose and if it was just a horrible mistake, I could always just throw it away. To my utter amazement, I discovered I was enjoying myself! Losing all sense of time as I was so engrossed in my “experience!” I even felt like, “I liked what I did!” Wow!

I truly paint for my joy, love of colors, and relaxation. It is very easy for me to get “lost at the easel” when I am painting.
